How to install Cover over existing rackmount device?
In situations where you need to install a cover panel over an existing rackmount device, you typically have two options: either mount both the cover panel and the rackmount device together using the same mounting screws, or mount the cover panel on top of the existing 10-32 mounting screws without worrying about maintaining proper spacing between the cover panel and the rackmount equipment underneath. Both methods work but have their own issues.
The IRP1-FPK2 offers a better alternative. This mounting screw kit includes four 10-32x7/16 M-F hex standoffs and four 10-32 5/16" screws. The 10-32 Hex standoffs create a space between the cover panel and the DIN Rail Enclosure, ensuring that the cover panel does not interfere with the existing 10-32 mounting screws securing the DIN Rail Panel enclosures to the server rack. The standoffs have both internal and external threading, allowing them to be screwed into the server rack through holes on the top and bottom corners of the DIN Rail Panel. Your cover panel can then be secured with 10-32 screws directly into the standoffs.
Remove Cover Panel Made Easy
The advantage of using the IRP1-FPK2 kit is that it allows you to remove the cover panel without detaching the existing DIN Rail panel underneath. This makes it easy to service your electronic components inside the DIN Rail Panel. Additionally, the 10-32 standoffs provide a secure and stable platform for mounting your cover panel or any other device you may want to install in front of your existing DIN Rail Panel or other rackmount equipment.
